What is security? The protection of key information from the organization, the implementation of measures to comply with a legal and regulatory frameworks, the management of equipment and access to sensitive assets?
What are its areas of intervention? Business applications, network equipment, work spaces for employees, the entry points of buildings?
What are the elements most critical to protect and which activities to prioritize? Confidentiality, availability, integrity? Physical security, information technology, awareness?
All answers are probably valid … yet incomplete if taken in its individuality!
Security is not something unique, clear and precise. It depends on the business of its organization, its strategy of risk management, areas of responsibility and operational teams.
And these are just some of the elements which influence security!
Depending on our position in the security field your approach and your needs will vary and complement each other. This is why everyone view things differently.
